I agree Lynn
but apparently TIIC are testing the water for an Erica and Ryan coupling.. Don't know if it's Erica's doing to get him away from Kendall, or if it's just a one time thing. :shrug
the Zach and Kendall kiss happens next week, good news about Ian's surgery, great news for us.. they are slowly finding there way back to eacjh other. :woohoo

The conniving Erica Kane, with 10 husbands down already, will fall into the arms of a much younger man on ABC's soap opera this summer. To make life a little more complicated, it's her daughter's ex-husband and ex-fiance's stepson.

The soap opera's summer story line puts Lucci squarely into television's zeitgeist, now buzzing with stories about experienced women looking for younger models — as opposed to old men looking for models.
Cable's TV Land just wrapped up "The Cougar," a reality series featuring a 40-year-old blond mother of four with salivating 20-somethings competing for her hand. ABC is prepping the comedy "Cougar Town" for the fall, with former "Friends" star Courteney Cox re-entering the dating world. On CBS' "Accidentally on Purpose," Jenna Elfman has a baby with a slacker she picked up for a one-night stand.
"Certainly the fact that it is a hot topic right now makes it all that more delicious for us," said "All My Children" executive producer Julie Hanan Carruthers. "It doesn't mean that that is how we're going to tell the story."
And it's hard to find a TV character with a richer history. Kane has lived a lot since arriving in fictional Pine Valley in 1970, with a drug addiction, time in prison, a stolen embryo, a rape that resulted in a daughter, a stabbing of Husband No. 8 and many, many manipulations.
She reached double figures in husbands just two years ago.
While Demi Moore may seem the prototype cougar these days, Lucci's frame of reference leads her to Anne Bancroft's Mrs. Robinson and her famous seduction of Dustin Hoffman in "The Graduate."
In the relationship with Ryan Lavery, "I'm sure people would expect it to be the kind of story line where Erica was manipulating things," Lucci said. "But there's been zero of that."
Those involved say the idea came from the audience.
Carruthers said Lucci, 62, and the 39-year-old Cameron Mathison, who plays Ryan, have a good comic chemistry and writers were looking for a way to feature them more, although not necessarily as romantic partners. Ryan was once married to Kendall, the girl Kane gave birth to after being raped at age 14.
Erica and Ryan went on a business trip together in episodes early this spring. Their car broke down, they found a cabin in the woods, they drew separate baths and, when Erica climbed on Ryan's shoulders searching for better cell phone reception, she slipped and fell into his arms.

Viewers noticed the chemistry and writers decided to capitalize on it.
June 22, when he kisses her on the cheek, is the first "butterfly moment," Carruthers said.
She believes the story will mean more to viewers than other TV cougar stories simply because it's been nearly 40 years of Lucci's character.
"Everyone watching the show has a sense of her vulnerability, her strength, her eccentricities," she said. "They've gotten to know Ryan just as well. So there's a lot more to it than just, `oh, my God she wants a younger man' or `oh, my God, he wants an older woman."
How much older? Don't ask. They don't tell ages on soap operas.
Mathison said he's excited, not intimidated, by the story.
"Think about this," Lucci said. "I slept with his father. He slept with my daughter. There has to be, at a certain point, (thoughts of) what does he know about me? What does he think he knows about me? As an actor, there's so much material to plumb into."
After those first pecks on the cheek, how much longer until the Big Moment?
Remember. This is daytime television.
"Make 'em wait, make 'em wait, make 'em wait," Carruthers said. "There are a lot of almosts."

Did I miss the part where they were married?
I know they were engaged...twice.
I also know Ryan walked away from Kendall...twice.
I've lost track of how often he's treated her like crap. Definitely a lot more than twice. :rolleyes:
I really could care less if they pair Erica with Ryan. As long as he's not pestering the Slaters and as long as Kendall isn't obsessing over it, I'll be fine.
Erica can hold her on and it is unlikely that TIIC plan to use Jackson any more than they recently have. Once the murder issue is resolved, Jackson will be locked up in chambers again. So, if they want to test Erica with Ryan and Annie with Adam...so be it. Neither pairing will last.

:shrug Ryan and Kendall being married once up on a time must have been one of Frons dreams and when he waspromoting this story line he forgot it was a dream. It was bad enoughn that Kendall was engaged to the jerk twice, but married no way...I feel bad for Erica and any other woman to have to put up with Ryan, but if it keeps him from Zach and Kendall bring them on..

So do I, Osanna. It has taken us a long time for Erica to turn around and accept Zach and Kendall's relationship. If her dalliance with The Ass is going to interfere with that in any way, I'll be pulling for them to pull Jackson out of mothballs and revive Jerica.
I like the respect and affection Erica has been showing Zach. She has been fiercely loyal to him when he's needed it the most and I don't want Pratt screwing with that to explore his cougar story. :rolleyes:

I went back and watched full episode clips from 4/13 and on
I have been watching just the Zendall clips After this spoiler about Erika came out and article said fans wanted it since E and R were stranded I went to watch AND Erika was telling Ryass about the kind of love Zendall share she said she doesn't think she ever had it and the way Zendall look at each other it is rare that kind of love and asked Ryass to leave Kendall alone so she can reunite with Z
of course she was getting somewhere until K arrived with the police to rescue E and found Ryass there and E hit a home run when she told K she cannot have to husbands (R and Z) .... Even stupid Ryass called K on it AND that is what made K sign the divorce papers just to prove a point (I wasn't aware of the dialogue between her Ryass and E at the cabin). After she signed the papers and Z had his one night thing and told K she couldn't believe Z would do that to HER even after she signed the divorce papers I think deep down she thought he would fight tooth and nail to get her back.
Later in Ian's room she was laying down with her back to Ryass and we saw tears in her eyes. Our girl was lost and was reacting without thinking through the consequences and when those caught up with her it broke her yet as to not show anyone how much she hurt she clung to her poodle®.
This post turned out to be long lol I was only going to say that maybe just maybe E will not turn on Z because she sees and knows how much he loves her daughter like They (E and K) have NEVER been loved before she might even teach Ryass something about truly loving someone

I don't think Erica will turn on Zach..She has become their biggest shipper . Zach would really have to do something awful to Kendall to turn Erica against him.. She didn't turn against him when she found out he fathered Gabby,,( Bianca or not ),She knows he loves Kendall more than his own life..
Ryan on the other hand is a different story,,and just maybe she uses herself as the distraction to get him to stop sniffing around Kendall and figures she'll have some fun :shrug too..She has always cared about him and probably thinks he'll be hurt when Kendall goes back to Zach.
